Cadet's Debriefing

Captain Vincent braced himself as he'd done a hundred times. The Maelstrom was hit by fire and the explosion tore across the holodeck, stopping just before engulfing Josh and Cadet Decatur as the simulation stopped and the holodeck reappeared around them. Josh moved from his position behind the cadet to stand in front of her.

"Congratulations Cadet, you've completed the Kobayashi Maru examination," Josh said. "You were tasked with a patrol mission in Federation space, but came face to face with an unknown foe. You made the correct decision to assist the Federation vessel before assissting the Ferengi vessel. When the Ferengi turned out to be raiders, you tried toreason with them, and when that failed you stood your ground. Even though you were outnumbered and outgunned, you attwmpted to save the stranded freighter crew, then tried to escape the area and call for backup. When all else failed, you faced death bravely. However, in this situation there was no need for the entire crew to go down with you. Escape pods dxist for a reason and you must not hesitate to use them if it can save lives. I will provide a detailed evaluation in the next few days. If you have no further questions, you are dismissed."
