Commander Joseph Sisko

Reminiscent of Benjamin Sisko, his grandfather, with short cropped hair, and Bajoran nasal features.

Jake was the son of Benjamin Sisko, the great Emissary of the Prophet of Bajor and commander of Deep Space Nine. His mother was a Bajoran named Galeesh Korena. Korena was a poet and former member of the Maquis, who became romantically involved with Jake while they were both attending a writing seminar.

His uncle Nog encouraged him to join Starfleet, to the regret of Jake who wanted him to follow in his path, as Joey had always been a talented writer. However, Joey inherited his sense of exploration from his mother. As Joey is half Bajoran and his grandfather was the Emissary of the Prophets, but is also a great scientific mind, he is a non-practicing follower of the Bajoran faith.

During his time at the Academy, Joey was accomplished at fencing and was in several tournaments. During one heated tournament, Joey lost his mask and the opposing player got a little out of hand and cut Joey's face across his right eye. He still has the scar from that incident. During a battle in the Gamma Quadrant, Joey received a plasma burn to his right leg that penetrated through to the cartilage in his knee. He had to have reconstructive surgery to repair the damage.

After graduation, Joey became the science officer on the U.S.S. Defiant, captianed by his uncle Nog. While on a mission in the Gamma Quadrant the Defiant came upon a Jem'Hadar rebel group who were sympathetic to the old ways of the Dominion and paid for its Ketracel by raiding unsuspecting federation cargo ships. The Jem'Hadar had the Defiant surrounded and its cloak was disabled. Nog had no choice but to surrender to the rebels. While the Jem'Hadar were busy taking prisoners on the Defiant, Joey concocted a solution that would counteract the effects of the Ketracel in the systems of the Jem'Hadar. Before he was captured, Joey released the odorless solution into the ventilation system of the Defiant. Soon the Jem'Hadar began to succumb to Ketracel withdrawal and pass out. The remaining starfleet officers including Nog, Joey, and some of the bridge crew were able to retake the Defiant and rescue the prisoners. This earned him the rank of Ensign and position of first-shift Science Officer on the bridge. Upon being accepted to Lotus Fleet and reaching Starbase 10, Joey did his part in the Borg War, and proceeded to take on the position of Chief Engineer of the Spectre. During his first mission on the Spectre, Joey was abducted by a malevolent incorporeal being from the other side of the Azimuth Horizon and taken through. Months later, Joey was discovered on our side of the Azimuth Horizon by the terrorist group "Horizon's Children". They noted he had completely lost his memory and took advantage of that fact to train him as "the Prophet". This title was used to place him as figurehead to the Horizon's Children. He now leads them in defiance of Lotus Fleet's plan to contain the Azimuth Horizon (as the goal of the Horizon's Children is to let it take over the Galaxy).

Joey was a gifted student and always had a knack for science which led him to study in San Francisco and join Starfleet. He attended Starfleet Academy from 78646.9 (August, 2401) to 82362 (May, 2405). He received a degree in Science with a specialty in cybernetics.
